Surprised by an unexpected new perspective
I regularly walk my dog in Coventry’s War Memorial Park. Though not as famous as New York's Central Park, it's the closest thing Coventry has to it - well-loved and well-used by the local community.
But going to the same place pretty much every day can, quite frankly, be boring. Sound familiar?
So today, instead of just walking around the extensive public footgolf course, I decided on the spur of the moment to break the monotony and follow the fairways as if I was playing a round of golf. And the impact on me was somewhat unexpected…
I understand the flow of the course now and how the different tees and holes are inter-related.
I meandered and explored and was surprised by how this slower journey provided me with new views and perspectives on familiar territory.
I feel refreshed for doing something different instead of following the same old routine.
I’m interested to hear what you could do that would have the same positive effect for you. Why not post your thoughts and ideas in the comments below?
In addition, you can get in touch to see how I can help you create the space to do this for yourself or your business through individual or team coaching.
